About Alethea
Alethea is a touring musician and artist in Los Angeles who writes for film and television and tours regularly. She is a music minor at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and trained with some of the best musicians in New York City. She has written over 200 songs.
Teaching Mission/Belief
I have a student-centered mission with teaching. I believe in giving students the skills to read and listen critically to music so that they can play any song or style they desire. It's important to me not to mold students, but to give them skills to grow and play or write any song they desire.
What Sets Us Apart
I prefer teaching privately than through music schools, because there isn't enough emphasis, care, and attention on the individual student at schools. Each student needs their own particular syllabus in order to flourish. Our approach allows for tailored lesson plans and better tracking of student progress.

My Story
In her own words: Music is healing. It is expressive. It builds community and it builds character.
I love teaching. Music is a passion of mine and working with students of all ages motivates and inspires me.
Through my experience, I have learned how to engage both kids and adults and keep them learning and growing in their knowledge of music theory, their instruments, and songwriting.
My work as a singer-songwriter in Los Angeles and as a developing pianist has forced me to learn how to set up a regular practice schedule and stay focused and present. I motivate my students with the knowledge I learn every day.
Fresh Start Musik represents my mission to spread the joy of learning an instrument and music theory with as many people as possible. I am connected with other very talented musicians in LA and as we expand our roster, I hope to connect students with these musicians as well.
